Ryan Murphy took to Instagram today to share the official, retro-heavy title sequence for FX’s “American Horror Story: 1984,” a season inspired by classic 1980s slasher films.

Murphy writes, “I am so excited to share with you the new title sequence by our longtime collaborator Kyle Cooper and our new friend Corey Vega, who ignited this concept with an original “fan” cut he posted on Twitter after the 1984 season was announced. I liked it so much, I decided to bring him on board to work together with Kyle as they evolved the concept into something major. Congratulations Corey! 1980s horror never looked so good.”

While you wait for next week’s debut, check out the opening sequence below…

And yes, they even gave the iconic “AHS” theme an ’80s makeover!

Billie Lourd, Emma Roberts, Gus Kenworthy, Angelica Ross, Leslie Grossman, Matthew Morrison, Cody Fern, John Carroll Lynch, Zach Villa and Mitch Pileggi star.

“AHS: 1984” will premiere on Wednesday, September 18.
