Kicking off in 2003, the Wrong Turn franchise has to date released six installments, and another film is soon on the way. Filming began this week over in Ohio, we’ve learned today from a local reporter. Sheila Vilvens tweeted this week, “Just learned film crews are in the Village of New Richmond through September 13 to film scenes for a Wrong Turn movie series.”

Mike P. Nelson (The Domestics) is directing the new movie for Constantin Film.

Charlotte Vega (The Lodgers) will lead the cast of the new take that will once again take friends to Harpers Ferry, West Virginia to spend a couple days hiking the Appalachian Trail. In this one, they are confronted by “The Foundation”, a community of people who have lived in the mountains since before the Civil War – oh, and they don’t take well to strangers.

Alan B. McElroy, the writer of the original film, wrote the new movie’s script.
